Dermy's Ant Food

Post by dermy on Tue Sep 15, 2015 5:43 pm

I made a new batch of Ant Liquid Food today. Thought I'd share how I made it:

2 Parts Icing Sugar
1 Part Water
1/2 table spoon of regular white sugar
1/2 multi-vitamin

I mixed it up and will be giving it to my ants over the winter.

Okay will do. I have fed two colonies with it and they seem to like it. When I get time [most of my time is spent babysitting, or sleeping haha] I'll get some pictures and stuff.

Okay little update, I made another batch without the vitamin, I've been told there are some vitamins in them that are toxic to ants! So I'm rather glad I only fed one colony with it. It's probably not enough to cause concern [the ants probably wouldn't touch it]

Either way I'll keep you posted on this new batch!

Works good, but you need to remember to take out any that isn't eaten in about 24-48 hrs. or it might mold.
