Dermy's Late Summer Anting Experinces 2015

Post by dermy on Thu Aug 27, 2015 3:46 pm

So I thought I'd start a topic discussing any Ant finds I have here before Winter hits. This is a great time for ants, since you can even find queens that you never knew flew, or did fly already.

Lasius neoniger had a small flight, I have heard it wasn't the big massive one so I'm keeping my eyes out.

Found a few Formica Queens, and even some Parasitic ant Queens. I also found what I assume to be a Parasitic Formica queen.

I went for a walk around and found:

2- Formica Queens
1 Strange larger then normal Myrmica Queen, that has a red head and thorax!
2- Lasius neoniger queens
1- Normal "morph" Myrmica queen

I'm hoping to find more here soon.
