2015 Fall/Winter Plans?

Post by dermy on Wed Aug 12, 2015 11:31 am

I don't like to admit it but I think this year will be a very early Winter [even though we just started hitting up the 30-35C Weather] so I thought I'd start this a little early. What do you guys have planned for Fall/Winter 2015?

Here is what I have Planned:

1- Reverse Hibernate my
-Myrmica Colony
-Formica Colony
-Lasius neoniger Colony
2- Start up my Vermicomposter into full swing again!
-add what is left of my Isopods into there as well
3- Dermestes lardarius Over-Feeding Challenge [with Nexious's Empire probably]
4- Attagenus unicolor Colony
5- Mealworms, I have tons probably planned out for them as well!

I want to make winter as fun as possible and this way I can always keep updating you guys on Bugs!

Fall is also the time that I like to Re-Vamp up my Composting Efforts. This is what I spend most of my Time with during those Cold Winter Nights, Preparing Food Waste for my Systems!

I'm starting to see that 2015 is going to be a big year for me and expanding out more with more Colonies then ever before.

I also have plans to wake up my Myrmica Colony during the Fall. I'm going to hibernate my current one soon. I think really soon.

As far as I know my Mealworms won't be doing too to much here. At least not at the moment.

Worms are doing okay, but not as many as there was. I'll have to work on that.

I've got something I've never done with anything planned for this Winter. It will likely start on November 1st/2015. That's when I consider it officially Winter.

I'll give you a Hint I think it's like an Over-Feeding Challenge but a lot more challenging.......

I'm currently in the process of revamping the Isopod Composter:

Isopod Composting Journal

I'll also be slowly starting to hibernate some of my ants come October, so now is the part when I like to feed and fatten up those colonies.

Winter has started here in Canada, so things are finally slow enough for me to get started with a lot of projects, including the Mealworm Project I've been doing for almost a month now, [will be a Month on December 7/2015] and as well as some other things that I have been planning, I really wanna do something with my Attagenus unicolor Colony, since they are doing pretty good.
