Yeah, sounds perfect! Messors need it a little smaller then Camp, about the same size at the test tube nest entrance, if not a little bit smaller. Just enough for the queen to fit in, and trust me, they squeeze through some pretty tight gaps! Smile

Dermy:
Yeah! Im currently trying to identify their so called 'Importation Passes' and where they got them. Me and another group of people are trying to stop their import to US borders, but not the UK.
And hmmm kind of. More like bigger seeds = More Supers in my opinion.

Ah okay I've heard a bit about this whole thing from a different forum. It sounds intense and crazy.

Well, I have a 2kg bag of bird seed which includes a fair number of sunflower seeds, so I'll stop cracking them once the colony gets a bit more numerous and see what they can produce.

So, CG Ants...

Quote from their Messor barbarus description: "extremely easy to care for, as are all of the Ant species currently sold by CG Ants."

They also sell Atta cephalotes...

Yeah, besides the point anyway, When your colony gets bigger (The messors) you will have to add another nest, is there a way for you to do that?

They sell Messor Barbarus cheaper than lasius flavus... I give lasius flavus away when I get queens lol! Their atta cephalotes isn't even house by them and rather drop shipped I think, and their specs are copied from Ant Store on all their ants Very Happy
Where did you get yours from?

Yeah I like having more then one port in a nest for that very reason. Although connecting one from the Foraging area would work just as well.

Ah okay. Well never too late to add a few port holes unless you have the colony inside already [even then if your very careful you can add a port].

I got my Messors from anthouse.es along with a few bits and pieces (https://wordpress.com/post/93847126/26/).

Edit: also, the original didn't have extra ports but my new formicarium will.
