It can take forever for them to get to maturity. Even a few years for some species.

The breeding cycle is around 8-9 months (about 3 months to hatch, 4-5 months to reach adulthood and about a month to get breeding). Dermy is correct in saying that some can take ages to mature and for the breeding cycle to be complete.
I will breed these myself for sure, absolutely love this species Very Happy

Yeah they do take awhile to get going, the 3 months hatching is crazy.

3 months is pretty short for phasmids, Carausius morosus takes about 6 months to hatch under my care, whilst two other species which I'm trying to hatch (Peruphasma schultei and Lopaphus sp Cuc Phuong) both take about five months to hatch. Heteropteryx dilatata takes about a year to hatch!

As promised, some pictures:

No more nymphs have hatched so far, however all of my stick insects (including this species) have a received an upgraded enclosure. Will post pictures of these guys in their new home soon:)

11th of July
I was wrong before saying that the first nymph has moulted into the second instar, as it appears to have done that this morning. The size difference between the first nymph and the rest is massive.
Anyways, here are some pictures:
First nymph compared to the rest

Just finished moulting to L2

L1 nymph, white stripes clear on its body, so L2 isn't too far now!

Their set up, moved my C.morosus nymphs out and these guys in.

Nah, I change the towel about every week and the food plant about every two weeks.
17th of July
The second nymph has moulted into L2, with the moult being a success. Apart from that, I changed the food plant for these guys and changed their towel whilst I was at it.
Pictures will be uploaded tomorrow:)
