Thanks guys. It will probably be a few more weeks yet. I'm not really sure what triggers the production of majors. They normally help out in the nest and transporting/cutting large food.

Blue has 3 newly eclosed workers so that's four now. I made the mistake of not fully squashing the fruit fly which caused mayhem in the nest:( Thankfully Blue dispatched it quite quickly while the first nanitic was holding it down.

Hey guys, a little update - I've placed Yellow in the dark in the hopes she will produce more eggs before hibernation:)

Blue now has 8 workers cheers I fed the the queen and her first nanitic a fruit fly not long after Myrm said it was okay Smile Since Friday several more have eclosed:D I also fed them a Blatta lateralis nymph (they're more soft bodied than my dubia) which they've already picked it clean Shocked affraid Shocked They also seem to be looking for more Shocked

Blue now has 12 workers and they're voracious! They were fed three fruit flies today! They recruit so fast too! The fruit flies were promptly dragged back to the nest for processing.

Yellow now has another nanitic which makes two:D They also had their first fruit fly today!

Thank you Salt Very Happy I think there's around 30 pupae now! Around 3-5 more waiting to eclose and around 30 -40 eggs Smile

Also, next to the worker having a piggyback on the queen Razz you might be able to make out a larger, more oval shaped larvae next to her sister? It could the first major! Or it could just be a natural increase in worker size now that they have access to food Very Happy
