Oh so they are like the "Water Version" of Dermestids? Cleaning up debris [how weird is that word, I mean the s isn't even needed haha]

I would assume as long as you were careful and mindful of their claws it shouldn't hurt them.

Huh that's weird, I've never heard of feeding on two separate sides. So like food dishes for each one?

This makes me think of those dogs who don't share their food with other dogs haha!

xD exactly I was a bit curious on why too but I would assume the crabs are mean and steal each other foods pig elephant

My dogs don't share the same food my terrier is a wimp and doesn't like to start fights so when playing she always looks away from the other dog

And venom hes just starting to get used to not having 5 other dogs eat his food

Re: Halloween moon Crab

Post by SpiderSam on Fri Feb 20, 2015 11:22 am

I really enjoy how my topics that I make get way off topic but still on topic in a way xD if u look at most of my forums I go way off topic .....

But about these crabs "The Halloween crab is an ecosystem engineer. The crabs can occur at high densities, up to 6 per m, and the removal of large quantities of leaf litter from forest topsoils influences carbon storage and nutrient cycling, reducing the carbon and mineral content of the topsoil and enriching lower soil layers. The species preferentially feeds on the seeds of particular types of plant, favouring the persistence of some at the expense of others. These mechanisms have the overall effect of reducing tree density and diversity in forests where the crab occurs. - http://www.svsu.edu/~tkschult/moia/halloween-crab.html "

Thought id add the site

Well last time I checked crabs have a large exoskeleton. So I doubt a T could eat them.

That's what I was thinking also the exoskeleton would be hard also not to mention its claws could easily take a leg off xD

I was more curious on other peoples thoughts

I should make a forum post Called "who would win" and ask question like bearded dragon vs iguana xD

LOL who won? see I don't think I could prove who would win since I don't think its fair for the other animal especially when the wins are obvious xD but for thought wise it would be a good brain buster for sure
