Has anyone got any new anything yet? I'm debating with myself about getting Turkestan roaches or another species. It's my birthday soon. I don't think it would go down well though if I ask for cockroaches Laughing

Hi Luke

My mealworm pupae have started to hatch into bettles at long last, though they seem really slow and sluggish. sad

I hope to be getting some Green Jewel Bettles (Chlorocala africana camerunica) next month.

Maybe they just need a while Myrm, to wake and get moving? Never really kept them, but I know cockroaches get less active when kept at cooler temperatures, maybe the cold weather?

Oh nice! Don't forget pictures Smile

Yes mine are much more active once their exoskeleton hardens up and they turn black.

I have about 20 bettles now but they just sit around doing nothing. Some lay on their backs all the time.

I think if you get normal beetles make a colony with them, then use these as feeders.

Myrm, are you keeping them with any heat? If not, maybe they're too cold and that might explain the dormant like state ?

Hi Luke

They are kept at room temperature, however, when I am in bed or at work I turn the heating off.

That could be a slight issue, do they hide from light at least?

They don't seem to hide from light but they move if I touch them.
