Indoor worm bins do not need any special attention in the winter, just make sure the temps are constantly above freezing and you can continue to do it all winter long. Although if you have a large system it is best to harvest the Vermicompost during the fall and use it on your plants as a final nutrition to last them through the winter.

I don't know enough about out-door systems to help you though sorry sad
