I am not a big believer in handling any invert as I think they are not fond of it as a general rule but many T keepers handle their's all the time. Certain species (Pokies for example) are way out of bounds for handling but there are others that are pretty docile. But, like people, each spider has their own personality so use caution no matter what.

I like to handle wasps sometimes, sure you get stung but I've heard it's good to get stung at least a few times a year, just like with Keeping Bees. It's good for you [obviously not if your allergic, but then you shouldn't be keeping them]

I've seen a lot of videos on people handling their Tarantulas and all that.

Bees stings can provide help with certain medical conditions. But I don't think wasps stings work in the same way. Bee stings and wasp stings are different. One is acid based the other alkaline based. Can't remember which is which. Smile

It's not for health, It helps you get used to the feeling, then when it happens it doesn't hurt as bad.

Sounds like a great hobby Dermy. Shocked I thought the point was NOT to get bit or stung? I must be doing this wrong.

Haha it's different for Social Wasps, since your almost Guaranteed [or your money back Laughing ] to get stung each season, I don't even bother not trying to get stung. I messed with like 5 large Bald Face Hornet nests [oh yeah btw don't believe them people who say they sleep at night, they just wait for you to touch the nest and go for you! I tried at 2am and then at 6am and both times they swarm like nuts. Never got stung just swarmed [they got on my bunnyhug and after that I ran like hell home haha!]

You should make your own TV show! Don't know anyone else that doesn't care if they get stung. Still hurts like *&%$ I am sure.
